Luka Gadelia first visited Krasnoyarsk in November last year. He took part in the IIIrd International Festival of Krasnoyarsk "The Universe — The Organ", dedicated to the 80th birthday of Michael Tariverdiev. With his emotional playing the organist immediately won the hearts of the Siberians.

Luka represents Abkhazia at all-possible international festivals of organ and classical music. The talented musician has played in churches in Germany, Holland, Italy and Latvia (Riga, Dome Cathedral). Today his concerts are sold out in Russia (Moscow, Volgograd, Kirov, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Naberezhnye Chelny), the Ukraine (Kiev, Kharkov, White Church), Kazakhstan (Astana).

The motif of the Homeland is an integral part of the musician’s art. Wherever Luka Gadelia appears, in his programme are always included songs associated with his native land. It would seem that  Abkhazian folk motifs when played on the organ may not be quite correctly understandable to foreign audiences. But, more often than not, people in the audience, inspired by the power of this magnificent instrument and Luka’s inextinguishable mastery, listen with tears in their eyes to "The Song of the Rock" and other Abkhazian melodies. The language of art is universal. And the music by which Luke speaks to the world about his country is the music of his heart.

Luka Gadeliya gave two concerts in U.K.

The phenomenal organist from the Republic of Abkhazia Luka Gadeliya gave two solo concerts in two leading Universities of Great Britain – Cambridge (on November the 6th) and Oxford (on November the 7th).

Today Luka Gadeliya – is a cultural brand of the Republic of Abkhazia. He is a young and talented musician, Lauriat of a number of international contests. He works as an organ player at the legendary Pitsunda Cathedral erected in the 10th century in honor of the St. Andrew the Apostle.

The organ in the Pitsunda Cathedral was created in 1975 by one of the masters of the German classical organ making art Hans-Joachim Schuke. This artifact is justly considered the gem of the Abkhazian culture. The modern Pitsunda is a famous Black Sea resort situated on the site of the ancient town Pitiunt (IV century B.C.) which was part of ancient Colchis which later became the center of one of the first Christian communities in the Caucasus. This place described by the ancient Greek historian Herodotus is associated with the legend about the Golden Fleece.
